The Discoverability Problem: How AI Shifted the Risk Equation
Monday April 27, 2026 9:50am - 10:50am CDT
The data that enables targeted violence has never been easier to find. In June 2025, investigators recovered a notebook from a Minnesota murder suspect containing a list of data aggregator websites, documenting how the data broker ecosystem was leveraged to locate and target public officials. Months earlier, a pair of websites exposing 23,000+ executives demonstrated how AI tools could build targeting infrastructure in minutes, no technical expertise required. These cases mark a turning point: AI has collapsed what the Supreme Court once called "practical obscurity," the protection that arose from the simple difficulty of finding and correlating personal information. This session examines how AI-enabled reconnaissance has compressed the threat timeline from weeks to minutes, expanding the population of capable threat actors and reshaping what security leaders must measure and manage. Attendees will learn why discoverability now precedes and predicts targetability, and how reintroducing friction into the data ecosystem disrupts threat development at its origin.

From Signals to Prevention: Operationalizing Behavior-Centered Security with Technology
Monday April 27, 2026 11:20am - 12:20pm CDT
Proactive security programs increasingly rely on the early identification and management of human-driven risk. This interactive session examines best practices for integrating Behavioral Threat Detection (BTD) with Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) to create an effective, prevention-focused security program.

Drawing on real-world operational experience, the presentation will outline how observable behavioral indicators, structured professional judgment, and multidisciplinary coordination can be translated into actionable prevention strategies. Emphasis will be placed on the critical role of technology in sustaining these efforts, including how modern case management platforms enable consistent documentation, structured assessments, information sharing, and defensible decision-making.

Beyond the Hype: Safe, Responsible, and Defensible Use of AI
Monday April 27, 2026 1:20pm - 2:20pm CDT
Artificial intelligence is rapidly being adopted across security, loss prevention, fraud detection, and operational decision-making—but many organizations are doing so without clear guardrails, governance, or an understanding of the downstream risks. This session cuts through the hype to focus on what safe, responsible, and defensible use of AI actually looks like in real-world environments.Participants will explore how AI is being used today across security and risk functions, where it commonly goes wrong, and how poor governance can create legal, ethical, and reputational exposure. The discussion will highlight practical governance frameworks that balance innovation with accountability, including human-in-the-loop decision-making, data integrity, bias mitigation, and documentation.Drawing from real incidents, regulatory trends, and litigation-informed insights, this session will provide a clear roadmap for establishing AI oversight that stands up to internal scrutiny—and external challenge. Attendees will leave with actionable guidance to evaluate AI tools, set boundaries for use, and ensure their organizations remain both forward-thinking and defensible.

Establishing AI Governance and Standards in Intelligence Operations
Tuesday April 28, 2026 10:00am - 11:00am CDT
As intelligence professionals develop a 'trust but verify' approach to the increasing pressure to  integrates generative and agentic AI, the tension between rapid capability adoption and rigorous oversight has reached a critical inflection point. This panel explores the standards and internal governance frameworks necessary to maintain the "decision advantage" without compromising analytic integrity or operational security.

The panel features four distinct perspectives:
The Regulatory Lens: Identifying gaps and opportunities in government and industry standards for AI in intelligence operations.
The Ethical Architecture: Exploring how to conform to existing guidelines and anticipate new challenges.
The Analytic Standard: Adapting existing standards and integrating new policies to ensure analytic integrity.
The Leadership Mandate: Building a culture of "AI Literacy" that empowers intelligence professionals to act as human-in-the-loop safeguards.

Calculated Risk: Leadership When Failure Is Not an Option
Tuesday April 28, 2026 11:15am - 12:15pm CDT
At 13,000 feet, there is no room for debate. The decision is go--or no-go.

Drawing from competitive skydiving, high-altitude mountaineering, and Fortune 500 security advisory experience, Matthew Alarif connects extreme environments to the realities of corporate security leadership. This session explores how to make high-stakes decisions with incomplete data, why disciplined adherence to SOPs saves more time, and how to build team that trust each other when it matters most.

When the margin for error disappears, leadership becomes clarity, preparation, and the courage to say "no."
